82 or 62? Your Choice – Optional indoor Basic Sailing swim test and Water Safety class for May sailing classes
This swim test/basic water safety class will include requirements for the MSC Basic Rating* (newly aligned with the US Sailing Small Boat rating) plus basic water safety techniques, all conducted in an 82-degree pool rather than the 60 degree lake.
Participants will show they can swim 50 yards, tread water for 2 minutes, and put on a life jacket in the water.
In addition, participants will learn basic rescue techniques with some of our safety equipment (throw ropes, ring toss, & newly acquired lifeguard tubes.)
There is a charge of $10/person to use the facility. Guests may stay after the test/class and swim more or use the gym and workout facilities. $10 covers use of the Center all day.
Participants should RSVP to Meg Gower so I know how many lanes to reserve.
Time: May 6th at 9:45am
Location: 2810 Baker Rd, Dexter, MI
Meet in front lobby.
Complimentary towels, showers, shampoo, conditioner, etc. all included.
* Students will still do the Capsize portion of their class in the lake, but they will be wearing life jackets of course, plus their sailing gear which adds insulation.
