Team Regattas at Baseline in April

The team will have two regattas at Baseline lake in April. The Big Team team race will be April 7-8 and the Women’s Qualifiers will be April 14-15. Go Blue!

New Team Captains

Our U of M team has two new captains for 2018: Amy Baer and Austin Haag. Amy is a junior studying Computer Science, and Austin is a sophomore in the Ross School of Business. They have both been heavily involved with the team the past few years and looking forward to leading the team.

HRWC Baseline Lake Swim, July 9th

Michigan Sailing Club is again hosting the Huron River Watershed Council Baseline Lake Swim on Sunday, July 9th, 8:30 a.m. The swim is one mile and takes approximately an hour to swim across the lake and back. Swimmers can also do the 1-mile loop twice for a greater challenge. Swimmers must be able to swim one mile to participate in this river swim. Refreshments and good company will be available afterwards.

Michigan Hosts Women’s Quals

On April 8-9 the team hosted the MCSA Women's Conference Championship. We had eight teams from the conference competing for top four in order to qualify for Women's Nationals. More here.....

Vendee Globe

On November 6th, 29 skippers will leave Les Sables-d'Olonne in France and race around the world solo, non-stop, and without assistance. Vendee Globe is raced every four years and last time it took the winner 78 days to complete. More information.

The bridge on Strawberry Lake road has been repaired and the road is open again. WooHoo!

U of M Team wins Cary Price Regatta

Congrats to our sailors for taking first at the Cary-Price Memorial Regatta for the fifth year in a row! Ohio University came in second and Michigan State University came in third. Thanks to all the teams that came out to sail and thanks to all our volunteers for their help! Full Scoring Summary

Congratulations to the U of M Sailing Team

The team qualified for Team Race and Fleet Race nationals at the MCSA Nationals Qualifier Regatta. Way to Go Blue!

U of M Team getting new boats!

After three years of fundraising, the University of Michigan Sailing Team reached the first half of our $200,000 Capital Campaign goal and purchased a brand new fleet of twelve FJs. The boats, scheduled to be delivered from Zim within the next week, can’t come soon enough; the team’s 420s (which are older than their freshman recruits) are on their last legs.
