Docks are In and Boats are Out!

On Saturday (April 12), a group of 50 club member volunteers came to the club to help with our annual Dock-in event. Weather was near perfect – sunny, with little to no wind, and the floating docks were maneuvered into place (thanks Carey, Kevin, Tim, Tom and others!).

Boats were moved out of the boathouse annex with many hands (James and crew), washed (thanks Chris!), and many were rigged (thanks Russell and a big crew). The boathouse was cleaned and ordered (thanks Laura, MJ, Anita, and others!). Reggie dropped down into the plumbing pit and dredged out buckets of sand that was obstructing the valves and cutoffs – much appreciated!

Klaus tried to start the riding mower, which it didn’t want to do, so he broke down parts of the motor to diagnose the problem. It may be fixable, but it is an old machine that has had many lives. Lois orchestrated a delicious lunch with soups and stews and other food contributed by various members (Jane, Souha, Amy, Donna M., Sandy, Anita, and Anna).

We very much appreciate everyone’s time and expertise in making this a successful, safe, and enjoyable dock-in event. Now we can all start sailing on the lake!

Dockmaster
