Helm rated Members can open the club for “Open Sailing” in winds up to 15 knots.

Helm Rating Steps:

1. 1. You must already have: A Basic Rating.
   2. Print: Helm Rating SHEET
   3. Reference: Helm Rating Guide
   4. Reference: Powerboat Skills List
   5. Sign Up: Add your name to our list
      • When you sign up we will add you to our Helm Candidate email list.
   6. Get: Your Boating Safety Certificate
      • ALL Helm candidates MUST get this certificate regardless of age per MSC policy to even begin training in the motorboat.
        • Anyone born after 06/30/1996 MUST have certificate on your person at all times when operating the motorboat per law.
        • Please let us know if the hyperlink above no longer works.
        • Please email us a copy of your certificate once completed.
   7. Attend: Intermediate/online Learning Opportunities.
   8. Be: Proactive
