HELM RATING STEPS
Helm rated Members can open the club for “Open Sailing” in winds up to 15 knots.

- You must already have: A Basic Rating.
- Print: Helm Rating SHEET
- Reference: Helm Rating Guide
- Reference: Powerboat Skills List
- Sign Up: Add your name to our list
- When you sign up we will add you to our Helm Candidate email list.
- Get: Your Boating Safety Certificate
- ALL Helm candidates MUST get this certificate regardless of age per MSC policy to even begin training in the motorboat.
- Anyone born after 06/30/1996 MUST have certificate on your person at all times when operating the motorboat per law.
- Please let us know if the hyperlink above no longer works.
- Please email us a copy of your certificate once completed.
- ALL Helm candidates MUST get this certificate regardless of age per MSC policy to even begin training in the motorboat.
- Attend: Intermediate/online Learning Opportunities.
- Be: Proactive
