A Michigan Sailing Club Basic-rated member may sail anytime the Club is “Open for Sailing.” A Basic rating requires an elementary level of sailing skill.

Then, when you are ready, find a Learning Opportunity:

- Sailing with Kirk
- Friday Night Basics & Beyond with Anna
- Sunday Racing with an experienced Crew
- Youth Sailing with Parents: 6/24/24 – 6/28/24
- Teen Sailing Week with Al: 7/22/24 – 7/26/24
When you finally have the skills you need and you think you are ready, sign up for the Sailing Test.

Our learn to sail book is “Learn Sailing Right” and is available for purchase to members for $10. You can pick up in person at the Club during the sailing season.
Purchase is optional- we have copies in the boathouse that you can read.
