Spring has arrived!
Sailing Club members,
Welcome to the 2016 sailing season! Our upcoming schedule:
- Dock -In, Saturday April 23, 1 pm: We’ll get the remaining boats out of the clubhouse, step the masts, deploy the floating dock, and otherwise put the club in order for the season. This will be followed by party at Aubrees in Dexter at 4 pm.
- Spring Fling Regatta: Sunday May 1st: See http://michigansailingclub.org/spring-fling-nor/ for details and instruction on how to register.
- Once we’re into May, our regular operations begin in earnest. Boat school, Saturday lunches, racing on Sundays and Wednesdays, clinics, etc. See the calendar on the website and you’ll receive reminders via email.
- Open Sailing and Boat School and racing and lunches and social events etc. – it’s business as usual once dock-in is complete.
- Sunday May 29: The Dan Rice Memorial Regatta
- June 4-7: US Sailing Instructor certification course at the club. This is for experienced sailors. Sign up at
http://www.ussailing.org/education/sbinstructor/level-1-instructor/ Contact me or Jane for more info. - ROAD CLOSURE: Strawberry Lake road is closed just east of the club due to a culvert failure. If you are coming from the east, take Territorial road west, past Mast road and turn north on Huron River Drive which becomes Strawberry Lake Road.
Looking forward to a great season. See you at the club.
